A safety operation in Derry between the PSNI and the Driver & Vehicle Agency on Friday has resulted in the prohibition of eight vehicles.
Modifications to motors were detected.
Four had a lowered suspension, resulting in the rear springs falling out when slightly raised.
While, one vehicle had the anti-roll bar cut away as it was in direct contact with the drive shaft.
Police say that modifications can impact the steering and stability of the car.
