The Crime Victims Helpline says it saw huge rises in the number of calls relating to thefts and hate crimes last year.
The group’s annual report for 2024 shows reports of theft-related incidents rose by two thirds, while burglary related contacts jumped by 46 per cent.
The number of racist hate crimes reported to the helpline almost tripled, from 15 in 2023 to 44 last year.
