Gardai warn motorists that blocking emergency services access puts lives at risk

Gardai in Donegal are warning motorists that by blocking access for emergency services, they could be putting lives at risk.

They are urging drivers, particularly if they are out and about during the current spell of good weather, to consider if they have parked in a responsible manner and if they are potentially blocking access for emergency vehicles, as every second counts, they warn in an emergency.

Gardai are advising that obstruction is an offence under road traffic legislation and vehicles could be seized.

Over the weekend again, bus services in Shroove, Greencastle were cancelled due to cars parked on the only access road and on either side of a narrow bridge.
