A walker was hospitalised after sustaining a lower leg injury on Errigal Mountain over the weekend.
Donegal Mountain Rescue Team was tasked shortly before 5pm on Saturday after being alerted by Gardai.
Within four minutes, using the Phone Find system, the team was able to identify the exact location of the casualty.
Upon arriving at the scene, the 12-strong DMRT commenced initial treatment by immobilising the affected limb.
Once stabilised, the team undertook the challenging process of transporting the casualty from the 600-metre contour line down to the car park at Errigal where they were handed over to National Ambulance Service paramedics who transferred them to Letterkenny University Hospital for further medical treatment.
