Gardai are understood to be aware of a weekend incident in Buncrana during which fireworks were thrown at members of the public.
A father and his young daughter, as well as a woman crossing the road, narrowly escaped injury after a firework was fired in the Main Street area at around 8pm on Saturday night, while elsewhere in the town, a group of around 20 people were observed throwing fireworks.
A family of tourists is said to have also been left shaken as a result.
