There has been a high volume of spoiled votes in Donegal.
Nearly 6,000 ballots have been spoiled in the county, with over 100,000 votes expected to be spoiled across Ireland.
Statements written on ballot papers include; ‘She was only 10 years old’, ‘Not my president’, ‘Justice for Harvey’, ‘None of the above’ and ‘SpongeBob no.1’.
Another voter put an ‘X’ through the entire ballot paper, drawing a separate box with Ashling Murphy’s name and others submitting blank ballot papers.
