A security review of all IPAS centres has been announced by the Minister of State with special responsibility for migration.
It follows an arson attack at an IPAS centre in Louth, which has left 28 people homeless.
Gardaí have confirmed that a fire at the property in Drogheda on Halloween night was started deliberately, after fireworks were thrown into the building.
Three children and a baby were among several people rescued by firefighters.
