A Status yellow snow and ice warning is now in place for five counties in the North East.
Donegal, Leitrim, Sligo, Cavan and Monaghan can expect wintry showers of hail, sleet and snow today and tomorrow.
The warning will remain in place until midday tomorrow with a similar one in effect in Northern Ireland.
Met Eireann is warning of hazardous travelling conditions and icy stretches in the affected areas.
