Letterkenny set for 110 new community beds under HSE 2026 plan

The HSE plans to add 2,200 more CAMHS consultations for young people in 2026.

The health service has outlined its plans for the new year, with €29 billion to be spent on healthcare over the next 12 months.

The document also commits to 428 new community beds, 110 of which will be in a new community nursing unit in Letterkenny, as well as 177 acute beds.

There is also a commitment to complete the Stage 1 design of the surgical hubs in Sligo and Letterkenny.

Health officials say they will use AI tools to free up 500,000 hours of administrative work next year.
