Gardaí in Letterkenny make multiple traffic offence detections over Bank Holiday weekend

Gardaí in Letterkenny are warning motorists that they are actively policing the roads this bank holiday weekend and have already made a number of detections for traffic related offences.

On Friday, one driver was found to be driving without a licence or insurance, resulting in the vehicle being seized and court proceedings to follow. A similar incident occurred yesterday morning, where a driver was found without a licence or insurance and also did not have a valid NCT or motor tax.

A number of speeding detections were also made over the weekend, including one motorist who was recorded travelling at 146 kilometres per hour in a 100 kilometre per hour zone. Fixed charge penalties were issued.

Meanwhile, yesterday morning a motorist was arrested on suspicion of drug driving after testing positive for cannabis.
