HSE CEO says ambulance delays at Letterkenny University Hospital are unacceptable

The CEO of the HSE has described delays at Letterkenny University Hospital as unacceptable while addressing a recent Oireachtas Health Committee meeting.

Responding to Senator Manus Boyle, who called for a patient handover system to be introduced, Mr Gloster said lengthy ambulance queues outside the emergency department are delaying patient admissions and preventing vehicles from being available for further emergencies.

He told the meeting that work is ongoing on a daily basis to improve the situation at the hospital:
