€45 million is to be invested in regional airports over the next five years.
Donegal Airport is eligible for the funding, along with Shannon, Ireland West Airport and Kerry, according to RTÉ.
Meanwhile, it is expected that a Public Service Obligation air service between Dublin and Derry will also be introduced later this year.
