Gavin McAteer made his first appearance for Ireland’s U19 side against Poland in the U19 Euro Qualifiers on Wednesday.
Newcastle United midfielder Rory Finneran got on the scoresheet as the game finished in a 1-1 draw.
Gavin came off the bench and John Cotter’s side could have snatched all three points but for a missed penalty in the second half.
McAteer, along with fellow Finn Harps youngster Josh Cullen, are both in contention to play against Scotland in their next game on Saturday.
