A number of drivers in Donegal have been issued Fixed Charge Penalty Notices for having non-conforming registration plates.
Letterkenny Roads Policing Unit made the discoveries while on patrol on Friday.
Non-conforming Irish registration plates include those that have custom or non-standard fonts, incorrect sizes, colours or spacing, no EU flag or “IRL” identifier and those that are designed to defeat ANPR systems.
Gardaí in Donegal are reminding drivers that each non-regulation, missing, or obscured plate can result in a €60 Fixed Charge Notice per plate.
