Government accused of failing family carers on all 34 promises

The Government has failed to deliver on any of the 34 commitments it made to family carers during its first year in office.

That’s according to the latest scorecard from Family Carers Ireland, which says if anything, things are getting worse.

It found services, including access to Assessment of Need therapies, personal assistance hours and personalised budgets had all regressed in 12 months.

Chief Executive Sharon Foley says they are beyond disappointed by the lack of action:
