Gardaí in Donegal are warning the public about a social media scam involving fraudsters impersonating the Garda National Economic Crime Bureau.
They say scammers are falsely claiming to offer compensation programmes for victims.
Gardaí are reminding people that no section of the force will ever contact someone unexpectedly seeking bank details or personal information.
Anyone who has engaged with the scam is being urged to contact their local Garda station immediately.
