A Fianna Fail MEP says a single State body needs to be given responsibility for road death figures.
Cynthia Ní Mhurchú has been involved in discussions with the European Transport Safety Council to explore strategies in other EU Countries to help reduce road deaths in their jurisdictions.
The call comes as road deaths unfortunately usually see a spike over bank holiday weekends.
