Mark English set a new Irish 1000m record on Tuesday evening in Czechia.
The Finn Valley man ran 2:15.82 at the Ostrava Golden Spike Meet beating the previous record of Luke McCann by 0.58 of a second.
Mark powered through the final 150m to finish 6th in a world class field.
The race was won by Australian Peter Bol in 2:15.13.
