Global Motor Neuron Disease Awareness Day was marked in the Stormont Assembly this week.
Foyle MLA Mark H. Durkan paid tribute to people who face the diagnosis and to those who care for them.
He highlighted that health outcomes for those diagnosed in Northern Ireland are worse than those in other areas of the UK.
