Planning initiative urging Donegal residents to have their say

A new planning initiative is travelling across Ireland as part of a nationwide roadshow.

During Ireland’s Presidency of the EU Council, Place Engage will visit a different county each week.

The initiative aims to encourage greater public involvement in planning decisions, including issues around housing and infrastructure.

This week, the project is in Donegal, gathering the views of local people on what is needed to shape the future of their communities.

Carol Tallon, a PhD student in Planning and Placemaking involved in the project, says Place Engage wants to see more work around placemaking happening at local level, something she says is already evident in Donegal:
