A Status Yellow high temperature warning has been issued for Donegal as the current hot spell is set to intensify.
Met Éireann says the warning comes into effect at midday tomorrow and remains in place until 6am on Friday.
Temperatures are expected to exceed 27 degrees, while overnight lows are forecast to stay above 15 degrees.
The forecaster is warning of possible heat stress, uncomfortable sleeping conditions, an increased risk of forest fires and drought, as well as water safety concerns due to higher numbers of people using beaches, lakes and waterways.
