Donegal road policing chief welcomes tougher e-scooter laws

A ban on e-scooters for under-18s could be in place by the end of next month.

Cabinet ministers are set to sign off on new rules for the use of the vehicles at a meeting today.

The legislation would also make high-vis vests and helmets mandatory for all users.

Assistant Garda Commissioner for Roads Policing, Dunfanaghy native Denis Ferry has welcomed steps being taken by some retailers to stop selling e-scooters ahead of the changes:
