Concern at the prospect of further fuel protests

The fuel industry is concerned planned prices increases in September will trigger further protests.

Fuels for Ireland wants the government to pause plans to hike the excise duty on fuel from September, which it says could push diesel over 2 euro a litre.

Parts of the country were brought to a standstill in April in response to rapidly rising fuel prices.

CEO of Fuels for Ireland, Kevin McPartlan doesn’t want to a see a repeat of those scenes……………
