A man in his 30s sustained serious injuries after police believe he was abducted, assaulted by a number of people armed with iron bars and thrown from a moving car in Gortin.
The man was found lying on the Culvacullion Road at around 9.35pm last night, having suffered a number of limb and rib fractures, as well as a head injury.
A vehicle was found on fire on the nearby Rylagh Road a short time later, and police are investigating whether it may have been used in the assault.
Detectives are appealing for anyone with information, including dashcam or CCTV footage, to come forward.
Police are treating the attack as a serious incident and say the investigation is ongoing.
