‘Rumble in the Hills 3’, brought by former world title challenger Jason Quigley of Sheer Sports, is set for October 24 at the Aura Leisure Complex in Letterkenny with a capacity crowd set to witness some of Ireland’s next generation take their next big steps in the pro ranks.
Rising Fermanagh star Rhys Owens (4-0, 1KO) will top the bill in his first eight-rounder while ‘Dangerous’ Danny Duffy (4-0) and Aodhan Byrne (2-0) have also been confirmed on the card.
Owens was last in action in Stranorlar on the Fight Night at the Valley 2 card in July, beating Eric Omar Lopez on points after a six-rounder. Now, the Erne BC graduate steps up to right rounds for his next fight.
“We’re really excited and looking forward to Rhys Owens headlining this event in his first eight-rounder,” Quigley said.
“Rhys is going through the levels fantastically, moving along at a beautiful pace. He’s someone that I’m very happy with and excited for the future with him. Rhys is going to bring a massive crowd down as always from Fermanagh and the place will be going nuts for him!”
Owens stopped Stefan Nicolae after three rounds of his debut at the Aura last October on the Rumble in the Hills 2 card.
Duffy, who trains out of Raphoe Boxing Club, headlined at the Finn Valley Centre in July and overcame Lakshmy Zaragoza Contreras after six rounds.
Duffy fought at the Aura last year, beating Ricky Starkey on points after an exciting four-round tussle.
Quigley said: “Danny is moving along at a beautiful pace as well, he had his first 6 rounder in the Finn Valley with a sensational performance against a Mexican.
“They’re showing their levels and they’re showing that they’re well able to continue progressing in their careers and keep upping the opposition for them and moving in the right direction to title fights.
“Danny’s going to bring another massive support with him as well from Raphoe and Strabane and all his ones always come and make good noise. I’m excited for Danny who just continues to grow and to mature and to mould into a really seasoned professional boxer so early in his career. I’m really excited to see where he can go.”
Kildare man Byrne, who has strong Donegal family roots, is 2-0 after wins over Marian Wesolowski in Stranorlar in February and Jonatas Rodrigo Gomes in May at Leopardstown.
“Aodhan is going to be stepping into the ring against a very durable opponent and just stepping in with a guy like this in his second pro fight just goes to show you the levels he’s at,” Quigley said.
“He’s going to step into a six-rounder and it’s a fight that’s going to test him and keep him on his toes, keep him sharp. It’s a great learning and growing fight for him. He needs to be coming in 100% focused and ready to rock and roll.
“He takes a good crowd from Kildare, he has a good crowd here in Donegal and he is moving beautifully in the right direction in his career.”
Quigley is excited to be back in Donegal with his third show of 2026.
He said: “We’re back because of the success and the demand from the first couple of shows. It’s been a great success and it’s been a great hub for boxing in Donegal.
“It’s just fantastic, the support we’ve been getting, the fights that went on in the last one and we continue to keep raising our game for every show.
“You just see the calibre of the fighters, they’re moving along so nicely. They’re all at a very similar stage of their career, they’re all moving in the right direction; all stepping up the levels in terms of rounds, in terms of opponents.
“These are all lads that are going to be pushing in the right direction now for big fights down the line. It’s about them just enjoying the journey, enjoying the process and taking everything in.
“The future is very bright for all these lads.”
