Donegal County Council has agreed to meet with Councillors in the Glenties Municipal District to discuss the fire service on Arranmore island, and in particular, the executive’s intentions regarding retained fire service personnel on the island.
The meeting was sought by Cllr Micheal Choilm Mac Giolla Easbuig who has welcomed the commitment to a meeting, but says he’s disappointed that the fire service union and island representatives are not being invited.
He says there is a wider issue regarding fire service arrangements on all the county’s offshore islands that also needs to be on the agenda……..
