The Minister for Education has been greeted with a stony silence as he addressed the Teachers Union of Ireland’s annual conference in Galway.
Ruairí Quinn took to the podium as a handful of delegates held up signs of opposition to the Croke Park 2 proposals.
Minister Quinn told delegates that he awaits the outcome of other unions’ ballots on the new deal with interest.
And he was heckled as he called for teachers to work with the Government to build a better economy:
