Gorse fires in Crolly and Falcarragh brought under control

The Crolly area fire burned across the hill at Bunawack above the townland of Meenaweal and across the hill towards Loughanure before it was brought under control.
Fire crews from Dungloe and Gweedore together with many locals battled to bring it under control. Gardai were also on the scene and -roads in the immediate area of the fire were closed.
Smoke from the blaze drifted in the wind some five miles away to Dungloe and across through Loughanure into Annagry, Ranafast and Mullaghduff.
There were fears for many sheep belonging to locals that were roaming the hillside where the main concentration of the fire was.
Meanwhile, fire crews from Falcarragh and Gweedore battled a gorse blaze for three hours in the Muckish area near Falcarragh also on Sunday night.
