McGettigan and Sweeney take Roscommon win with ‘Pillar of Hope’

Donegal Jockey Patrick McGettigan and Trainer and Owner Paul Sweeney were back in the winners enclosure on Monday at Roscomonn.

McGettigan and Sweeney took the honours in the On Course Vets Handicap with Pillar of Hope at 11/2.

It’s the fourth victory together on the horse.

McGettigan went to Roscommon after a brilliant weekend that was highlighted by his win at Newmarket.

He rode the winner – Alphonse Le Grande – in the prestigious Cesarewitch Handicap.

The Tony Martin trained seven year old became only the second horse in history to win the Cesarewitch twice
