(Statement from Donegal County Council)
Donegal County Council wishes to advise members of the public that some Council services will be affected by planned industrial action on Wednesday, 14 October 2026.
The Fórsa and SIPTU industrial action forms part of a national dispute involving all 31 local authorities.
As a result of the strike action, our Council buildings will be closed to the public, while other services may operate at reduced capacity. Members of the public should expect some delays and changes to normal service arrangements during the day.
Donegal County Council has contingency arrangements in place to support the continued delivery of essential services. Fire services and emergency homeless services will not be affected by the industrial action.
Members of the public are encouraged to check Donegal County Council’s website and social media channels for the latest service information and updates.
Donegal County Council apologises for any inconvenience caused as a result of the industrial action and thanks members of the public for their patience and understanding.
