Two people have been arrested in connection with the murder investigation into the deaths of four members of the same family in Waterford.
A man in his 20s and a woman in her 30s were arrested this afternoon following Tuesday’s fatal arson attack.
The arrests mark a significant development in the investigation into the murder of Philip and Kim English and their two sons, 12-year-old Callum and nine-year-old Jayden.
Gardaí say a man in his 20s and a woman in her 30s were arrested this afternoon for alleged offences relating to criminal organisation activity.
Both are being detained at a Garda station in the Eastern Region.
The arrests follow a series of searches across Waterford in recent days, with drug-related activity and drug debt intimidation understood to be a central line of inquiry.
Meanwhile, the family’s two surviving children remain critically ill in hospital in Dublin.
Post-mortem examinations have been completed, while the family home remains a crime scene.
Gardaí are continuing to appeal for information as their investigation continues.
