Tom Duffy’s Circus has said it is ‘disappointing’ by a protest outside one of its shows in Letterkenny on Wednesday evening.
The company claims the protest was carried out by the Donegal SPCA.
Donegal SPCA say their protest was not about the circus itself but about the use of exotic animals for entertainment such as Tigers and Elephants.
In a statement Tom Duffy’s Circus says ‘We find it very disappointing that the Donegal SPCA, an organisation that relies on donations from the public, at a time when there are so many abandoned animals, horses in particular, starving all over the country are protesting outside our circus, where our animals are well fed, warm and well looked after.
The circus also states that its animals mean so much to them with each animal extremely well looked after by a specialised team of animal carers.
