The Justice Minister has hailed Operation Liath as a success, claiming that the number of burglaries in Donegal has decreased since January.
Operation Liath was introduced within the Donegal division in January this year aimed towards disrupting criminality against older people.
At the beginning of the year there was an upsurge of burglaries on elderly people in Donegal, with Active Retirement Ireland saying at the time that older people were “living in fear”.
