Roaming mobile phone charges capped from today

Using online apps like Facebook or Twitter anywhere in Europe becomes cheaper today.
Lower charges for mobile use across the EU means it will be 36 percent cheaper, costing you 45 cents per megabyte to download data or browse the internet.
Making a call is 24 cents per minute to make a call, 7 cents per minute to receive a call and 8 cents to send a text message.
Claire Hopping is Group Editor of UK based Know Your Mobile. She says travellers with smartphones still need to be cautious.
“Our advice is always turn off data as soon as you get to the country, or even before – before that plane takes off, disable your data roaming” she said.
“Because you can still be caught with a huge phone bill at the end of the day” she added.
