Two-year-old boy drowns in Co Waterford

A two-year-old boy has died after drowning in Co Waterford.
It happened on a beach in the village of Boatstrand at about 7 o’clock yesterday evening.
It’s believed a number of people were on the beach at the time and a nurse who was at the scene tried to resuscitate the child.
Gardaí arrived at the scene shortly afterwards – and the boy was taken to Waterford Regional Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
