The Mayor of Donegal has confirmed to members of the Council this morning that Cllr Frank McBrearty has left the Labour Party. Cllr Frank McBrearty
Cllr McBrearty informed the party at the weekend that he was no longer a memberHe was elected to Donegal County Council on the Labour Party ticket in 2009.
On a number of occasions in this year the former Mayor has said that he does not know if he will run in next years local elections.
Cllr McBrearty was given the chance to address the chamber, but he said he would be making no further comment.
A short time ago, the Labour Chairman in Donegal Peter Cutliffe said he knew Cllr Mc Brearty has been unhappy with the party for a while, and expressed disappointment at his decision…….
