The Ulster Senior League representative squad have began their preparations for the defence of The Michael Ward Trophy that they won in style in Sligo last year.
Donal O’Brien and Trevor Scanlon’s charges played a Derry City Select side on Saturday in Drumkeen and ran out comfortable winners courtesy of goals from Darren McElwaine (2), Garbhán Friel and Conor Carlin.
They are in action once again this Tuesday evening when they take on Institute in Maginn Park at 8pm – a venue at which they will open the defence of their title on Friday, October 3rd v Connaught.
The Ulster Senior League will host this year’s competition over the first weekend in October (3rd – 5th) with games on Friday night v Connaught; Saturday at 1pm v Leinster and finally on Sunday morning when they finish with a game v Munster.
