The Chairperson of the IFA in Donegal says the theft of cattle and sheep remains a major problem in the county.
PJ Mc Monagle was speaking after 75 beef cattle were seized yesterday in the Castleblayney area of Monaghan as part of an ongoing cross border operation
Searches have taken place in Donegal, Mayo and Monaghan and, to date, 115 cattle and 20 sheep have been seized.
PJ Mc Monagle says it is a two way process with animals stolen in the republic being brought into the North and vice versa.
Speaking on today’s Shaun Doherty Show, he said there needs to be a renewed community focus on animal thefts………..
