Letterkenny. Glenties, Carrigart and Malin have won awards in the National Tidy Towns competion for 2010, the results of which were announced in Dublin this afternoon.
Letterkenny collected the regional prize when the Tidy Town’s results were unveiled in Dublin this afternoon.
It received 304 points, four behind the overall winner Tallanstown, but hust one ahead of last placed Skerries.
In the county awards section, Glenties was ‘Highly commended’ securing 301 points while Malin was ‘commended’ having been awarded 299 points.
Both Glenties and Letterkenny were gold medal winners while Malin collected a silver medal.
Falcaragh recieved an endeavour award while Clonmany National School was topped ranked in the Northwest in the Schools section.
There was further success for Letterkenny, receiving a special reward in the Notice nature biodiversity section.
In the Smarter Travel category Raphoe was top ranked in the Northwest while Carrigart collected the Gaeltacht award.
