Senator Jimmy Harte remains in a stable but serious condition in Dublin this morning after a fall at the weekend.
Although there is said to be a slight improvement in his condition today.
The Labour politician was found unconscious at Newmarket Square in Dublin with life-threatening head injuries in the early hours of Friday morning.
Senator Harte had attended the Republic of Ireland football friendly against Latvia in the Aviva Stadium with family members.
A garda inquiry seems to suggest that he suffered his injuries in a “tragic fall”, rather than in an attack.
Meanwhile, media reports yesterday that Senator Hartes coat and wallet had not been located are false.
A family member said that they were found in a pub the Senator had visited that evening.
Senator Jimmy Harte and his family have recieved hundreds of messages of support and good wishes since the fall over the weekend.
