Petrol bombs were thrown at police in the Creggan estate in Derry last night during a security operation.
A sustained period of rioting took place as police moved in and evacuated some homes in the area in the wake of a suspected dissident republican mortar attack against them on Sunday evening.
It’s estimated that at one stage last night up to 100 youths took part in the rioting last night.
Three males aged 13, 14 and 16 were arrested on suspicion of a number of public order offences.
