Gardai are investigating following the discovery of a 52 year old man whose body was recovered from a quarry pond at Meenderrygamph in Gaoth Dobhair this morning.
Several rescue units including the Bunbeg Coastguard Unit, Donegal Mountain Rescue and the Helicopter from Sligo assisted Gardai in searching the area.
Gardaí then requested the local fire crew to pump a small lake and the male’s body was recovered.
The man had been reported earlier as missing.
His body has been taken to Letterkenny General Hospital where a post mortem is to be arranged.
