Canadian bones confirmed to be from Sligo famine ship


DNA results have confirmed that bones found washed up on a Canadian beach are those of Irish Famine victims.
The bones are believed to be those of three children who fled starvation in 1847.
Darragh Doyle from the EPIC Irish Emigration Museum in Dublin says they were on board a ship which left Sligo with 180 passengers on board – but sank off the coast of Quebec………..
