Garda Commissioner allays fears about cuts in Inishowen policing

The Garda Commissioner has moved to alay the fears of people Inishowen that garda resources, rather than being cut in the area, have actually increased.
Fachtna Murphy was responding to concerns raised by Senator Cecilia Keaveney following the Carrigan’s post office robbery amongst other recent crimes and an increase in dissiddent activity in Derry.
She was informed that personal levels are up on 2006 figures and that the commissioner that resources currently in place in north Inishowen are adequate to meet the areas policing needs.
Senator Keaveney asked for a specific update on the Garda investigation into the Cariigan’s post office robbery and was given this response:
