Speculation is growing that the Government will be forced to announce a date for the Donegal South-West by-election, rather than run the risk of lose a costly High Court ruling.
Reports over the weekend suggest that the election could be held in March.
Donegal South-West has been without full Dail representation since June of last year when Pat the Cope Gallagher was elected to the European Parliment.
Sinn Fein has taken the matter to the courts and a judicial review application – challenging the Governments failure to move the writ is to be heard on October 15th.
