The family of a Falcarragh woman is to sue the HSE over her death in the local community hospital two years ago.
Derry based solicitor Desmond Doherty says he has been instructed to initiate legal proceedings against the HSE in relation to Sile Coyle’s death.
Ms Coyle, who was 86, died in Falcarragh Community Hospital on August 15th, 2008, after being admitted for respite care.
It’s believed she died in her bed as a result of suffocation.
Gardai said they would not be probing her death as a post mortem examination found the circumstances of her death were not suspicious.
Mr Doherty says Ms Coyle’s family will be suing the HSE for negligence, and papers will be served shortly.
At Letterkenny Coroners Court last Friday, Mr Doherty was granted access to copies of witness statements in relation to Ms Coyle’s death, with November 28th set as the start date for the inquest into her death.
