Derry Councillor Gerry MacLochlainn has today called for an emergency Council meeting with DRD Road Services to discuss the current snow and ice situation in Derry and to come up with and implement solutions.
Cllr MacLochlainn, a member of the council’s Environmental Services Committee says responsibilities and roles must be clearly identified between the agencies dealing with this extreme weather.
He says the council and the roads service are playing pass the parcel while there are people unable to move about safely and are risking life and limb because of the state of roads and footpaths………
