NFL Div2 Result
Donegal 2-11 Sligo 1-14
Fourteen-man Donegal came from eight points down with 20 minutes remaining to snatch a draw with Sligo in an exciting league opener in Ballybofey. The home side lead 3pts to 1pt after fourteen minutes but then had Kevin Mulhern sent off on a second yellow card. Sligo forced the man advantage to lead 8-6 at half time and with a goal from David Kelly the visitors were 1-11 to 6pts to the good by the 47th minute. Sligo were cruising but Donegal had other ideas after Rory Kavanagh, Leo McLoone and McFadden registered points and  Michael Murphy converted a penalty at the second attempt to leave just two points in it with 16 minutes remaining. Full Back Neil Mc Gee scored Donegal’s second goal to level the game a minute from time. Tony Taylor restored Sligo’s lead, but an injury-time point from sub Stephen Griffin ensured the spoils were shared.
