Donegal 2-9 v Monaghan 1-4
Donegal won the Ulster Vocational Schools title for the first time since 2002 thanks to an eight point win over the defending champions Monaghan on Tuesday night. Donegal led at half time 1-4 to 0-2 with Shaun Boyle scoring the opening goal. John Joe O’Shea’s side could have been further in front in that first half as they hit 11 wides. Ryan Mchugh had the first score of the second half, a goal after 11 minutes. They added a further 5 points to stretch the lead to 2-9 to 0-2 before Monaghan finished the scoring with 1-2. Donegal will now play Meath in the All Ireland series.
