Council’s Development Funds for 2011 revealed

Details of Donegal County Council’s Development Funds for 2011 have been revealed.
A total of just over one million euro has been allocated in 6 catagories.
The fund, as the council describes, is in recognition of the council’s role in economic, social and cultural development in Donegal.
The majority of the funding, 440 thousand euro, goes in to a development fund initiative to help boost employement, 184 thousand euro is for members development fund allowing each councillor 6,300 to be sued at their discretion.
150 thousand euro will target strategic development, with 130 thousand euro for tourism development.
The balance is made up of 100 thousand euro for community innovation and just over 16 thousand euro for sports.
The specific details of how the money spent is being finalised, when that is completed, the scheme will then be open for proposals on how and where the money will be spent.
